Bridge Burning is one of the singles in Foo Fighters new album Wasting Light. It became a sudden hit, as did Rope. Bridge Burning is now Foo Fighters number one hit, and Rope is on a close second place. Wasting Light is now one of the fastest growing albums on spotify, and is already on a shocking 5. place over best albums overall. You don't see many rock albums on this list regularly. Just another example on that Foo Fighters has grown to be one of the best rock bands of our time.

The Fog - 2005

The Fog is a remake of the 1980's classic follow-up movie of Halloween. In this remake, Elisabeth Williams (Maggie Grace) and Nick Castle(Tom Welling) , citizens of Antonio Bay, a sleepy little city on an island off the coast of Oregon who end up under siege by the supernatural for crimes of the island’s past.

The visuals are acually pretty impressive. The spooky fog moves in a threatening manner the original film never accomplished, although it doesn’t seem to move consistently. It’s the type of fog that moves in around a house, but then when the shots move to close ups, there is some level of visibility through the window until the fog moves in again in the closer shot, pressing up against all the exits. Visual mistakes like this are frequent in the film, and this is coming from a critic who never looks for that sort of thing. Windows that were broken become unbroken in long shots several times, cars fill with water and sink, only to reveal at the bottom of the sea that the car is just now filling with water. I’m pretty certain I even saw a marker stuck in for special effects to be inserted in one scene. Again, not one of these things was something I was looking for, so the fact that they stuck out at me so badly is a testament to just how sloppy this movie was put together.

But all together, the movie is a good combination of supernatural activity and "jumpy moments". You don't get a great picture of the crimes of the past, and you will struggle a bit before you get the entire story. When they filmed the crimes, they divided it into pieces and showed it bit for bit through the entire movie, causing you to not understand what happened until the movie is over.

Source Code - 2011

Source Code is a movie about conspiracies and altered minds. The film is a modified reality and inner space, and there are points of comparison with Christopher Nolan's Inception. But the world of Source Code seems to me more interesting, and more able to incubate real drama, real suspense and even some real humour.

At its centre is Jake Gyllenhaal(Colter Stevens), a US army helicopter pilot who has crashed in Afghanistan. When he wakes up, he finds himself in civilian clothes aboard a crowded commuter train arriving slightly late into Chicago on a glorious summer morning. He appears to be in someone else's body; the body of a suburban teacher. Opposite him sits Christina (Michelle Monaghan) who behaves as if a brief nap has merely interrupted their highly flirtatious conversation, but she is then increasingly alarmed as Colter, wild-eyed and panicky, demands to know what is happening and what is going on.

Source Code is hi-tech in a 21st.century way, but also has something from an earlier age: it is a story from the Twilight Zone and traces of the television world of The Prisoner and The Fugitive.

Insidious - 2010

Horror movies haven't been this fun in a very long time. Director of Saw, James Wan and Leigh Whannell have left the torture scene behind, though they really didn't revel in it, if you think about it , to deliver Insidious, the most delightful celluloid dark ride of this or any other year. Rediscovering the basic joys in shocks and suspense, the duo don't so much reinvent the haunted house film as revive its rollercoaster thrills. By using a simple setup and a various payoffs, the movie plays as a joke-a-minute parody where dread and terror takes the place of punchlines, the audience screaming instead of laughing in devious delight.

After teacher Josh (Patrick Wilson) and his wife Renai (Rose Byrne) discover old family roots, and move into a new house, everything seems fine . Within the first couple of days, however, oldest child Dalton (Ty Simpkins) suffers a simple fall and suddenly falls into a coma. Months pass and the doctors have no answers. While caring for her son, Renai is convinced that an evil presence is trying to take him from her. Hoping to confirm (or cancel out) such supernatural ideas, Josh's mother (Barbara Hershey) asks a psychic friend (Lin Shaye) to look in on the brood. Without warning, the medium makes a shocking discovery. Dalton is being attacked by spirits from "The Further", a parallel plane of tortured souls -- and one particularly malevolent demon. If they can't find a way to save their son, he will be lost forever.

2012(The movie) - 2009

2012 is exactly what the trailers make it look like. Billions of people dies of the first , but there are only a few we're instructed to care about. Among them is Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) and his family, who start driving out of Los Angeles seconds before the destruction begins thanks to a tip from Charlie Frost(Woody Harrelson), a Yellowstone-residing conspiracy theorist who saw the whole thing coming and made a YouTube video about it.

The sequence were California is destroyed is incredible (marred only by some stupid footage of an actor playing a caricature of Arnold Schwarzenegger), and the money shot where Jackson flies through a couple of collapsing skyscrapers had me on the edge of my seat. The only problem here is that it happens too early in the film, and the last hour or so, spent on board the ships meant to save the human race, don't begin to compare with what we've already seen.

So, if you liked the trailers for 2012, you'll probably enjoy the film aswell. It's beyond stupid, but it's also a lot of fun, so if you like this type of thing, than by all means check it out. You'll probably have a great time just don't think about it too hard afterwards.

Saw 3D (Saw VII) - 2010

This is supposed to be the final chapter in the Saw series. The concept is as always; People getting punished for their crimes with horrible traps and games. Still, the story does not rapidly alter in strange new ways, like in the other movies.

The "traps/game" story largely concerns Bobby Dagen (Sean Patrick Flanery), a survivor of Jigsaw who is being truly tested after being kidnapped after a promotional appearance for his book, which details how he survived and how it changed his life. Like Jeff from III or William from VI, his game often requires him to hurt himself to prevent the trapped person from dying, a method that usually fails. But the similarities to those superior films renders a lot of this stuff sort of dull, because his test is more about Jigsaw getting back at him rather than something that might improve his life, and thus less dramatically satisfying. Jeff and William were flawed individuals, Bobby's just a spineless jerk.

This movie brings a lot of new factors into the series. It contains some humor, which have been gone from the series for quite a while. The traps are new and exiting. And they fit perfect into the 3D effects. Saw 3D opens a new door in the Saw series with original thinking and a good story.

Trailer: Fast Five (The Fast And The Furious 5)

This is the trailer to Fast Five. It is to be released on April 29, 2011. The movie is directed and edited by Justin Lin. Watch the vid and tell me what you think :)

The Expendables - 2010

Things begin promisingly. Stallone plays Barney Ross, the leader of a band of mercenaries who long ago sold human compassion for a price. The CIA wants to make Barney its bitch by hiring his crew to infiltrate a South American island and take out despicable General Garza (David Zayas) and the cocaine kingpin financing his reign of terror. The big setup scene has no action, just Stallone doing verbal battle in a church with two suited-up honchos, Mr. Die Hard and the Governator of California. It's just one scene, so I won't spoil the juicy fun of it. But watching Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Willis together brings back the satisfying stupidity of the 1980s, when planet Hollywood meant action movies with no shame about blowing shit up.

The Expendables is a hardcore action movie, packed full with explosions, guns, and fighting. It is expendable.

Inception - 2010

This movie is what I call a brainteaser. The idea of our dreams, and how we can affect them is a serious matter, because it can have fatal consequenses. With some equipement, you can break into someones dream. The idea of inception is complex. A dream within a dream is a unstable process. But a dream within a dream within another dream seems impossible. However, it is the only was to perform inception; to plant a seed of an idea inside someones mind. If you fail, you will be thrown into limbo.

Cobb(Leonardo DeCaprio) would do anything to get his family back. And one day the opportunity is there. Saito(Ken Watanbe) promises that he can help him. All he want in return is that Cobb performs inception.

Red - 2011

Red (Retired Extremly Dangerous) is a movie with wide spectre of well knowed actors. The concept is good, and the action is stunning. But still I feel like it could be better. However, there is no lack of action, explosions or gun fights. But among this, there is also some humor in certain situations.

Frank Moses (Bruce Willis) is a retired agent for the CIA. He spends his days ripping his pension checks, so that he could flirt with his representative, Sarah (Mary Louise-Parker). He lives a quiet life, until someone puts out a hit on him. One night, a special ops squad comes to his appartment to silence him forever, only to discover that Frank Moses are not to be messed with. Frank runs, in fear that they would kill Sarah if they discover their connection. It's time to get the team back together.

Red is a movie that builds you up to a big finish, only to find out that the ending was not as good as you imagined. Still, this is a good action movie, that deliveres what a action movie should.
